    I enjoyed this book and wish there was more. Yes it is a series but the rest of the series is the Stanton siblings and their stories. I really wanted to continue to read and enjoy Gavin and Lilah's story. I think most reader's of this book feel the same way.

 I really enjoyed this book. The taboo subject of a teacher with his student made it a fun read. The people and creatures that were after her made me feel like it was me being chased and scared. I had a really hard time putting down this book and going back to reality of things to do as a Mom and wife. I wish there was more to this story then just this stand alone.  

The Notebook

    Noah met Allie one summer in his small town and they fell madly in love. When the summer ended she went years thinking he forgot about her and he did the same after writing letters and getting no response. After years of not speaking, Allie sees an article in the paper about him 3 weeks until she is married to another man. Allie then goes on her own mission to go see Noah and see how life is for him where they remember that summer and rekindle that love from that summer many years ago. You learn all this as they are now old people in assisted living care and Noah reads a notebook of their love story everyday to fight her memory loss. It really is a book that teaches you love does conquer all. 

    Nicholas Sparks is fabulous on his writing and keeping you rooting for the love to conquer whatever gets in the way. It is a wonderful book that teaches you that you can fight for what you love and despite everything in your way you can win. Nicholas reminds us that love is a very strong force that can make us or break us. 

The Silent Daughter

    Dani was always abused by her sister growing up and it took years to get her out of that situation, She got to marry her high school sweetheart and raise her family. One fateful night her house catches on fire and she watches her family burn as she is stuck outside, helpless. Picking up the scraps of her life she is taking care of her eldest daughter who doesn't speak to her at all, who escaped the fire. As she tries to piece it all together pieces of her past come into play and she finds out details that were in the darkest crevasses of her mind. Can she really survive all this?

    As the story progressed I made a guess on who set the fire and let me tell you I changed my answer a couple times and I was still WAY off. I enjoyed this story and having it unfold. It was not what I expected at all. Kirsty kept me on the edge of my seat but its really hard to get into a story when you are a Mom and need to take care of everything as well. 

Unfuck Your Brain

Faith starts by explaining how the brain works and does it very simply so it is easy to understand. She breaks down everything down so you aren't even overstimulated by listening to her as she speaks science. 

I listened to it in one day and some of it hit home for me. I wouldn't even try to say I am the smartest in the room, I have been through things that some days I can be super mature and other days I feel like I'm a 10 year old girl again. I appreciated it that I could read/hear that feeling that way is okay. Feeling like a friend is telling me all this was a good way for me to understand it all. Learning how to deal with it all a day at a time and not feeling like you are losing your mind is a good thing. We don't need to feel this way its just about "unfucking your mind" 

Let Me Touch

    Chardonnay hasn't been on a date since her last boyfriend cheated on her so with the push of her friend Cecily she goes on a blind date. Fancy dinner, a movie and ends in the park with sex. 

    It was a quick read and a nice book to get me back into my reading. I wasn't on the edge of my seat with this book but it wasn't dull either. I wish I had more to say but I honestly don't. 

You Are a Badass

Title: You Are A Badass  Author: Jen Sincero  Pages: 244  Genre: Motivation/self-help

This book is a way to motivate you and get you moving on making a life that you want and that you are proud of. Jen uses things that has happened in her life and she has experienced to give witness that good things happen to people that work for it and have faith that it will happen, have the thoughts that it will happen for them and that they are worth it. A lot of the time I think we get complacent in life and we need to read something like this to get us back into gear to fight for what we want.

Let's get this out of the way now, its to the point that if you have read one self-help book you have read them all right? I feel the same way. The difference with this book is with Jen's writing you feel like you are sitting on a couch talking to a friend telling her that life sucks and you want that change, you are dying for that change. She is there not to tell you that she agrees life sucks but to tell you to get off your butt and do something about it. There is swearing in this book so that is why I stated there is adult content. There is a part of this book that I didn't agree with that stood out. There is a chapter where she is stating to get rid of the toxic people in your life that feed on your energy and do nothing for themselves or you. Now I can agree you need to get rid of friends' like this but she made it sound like you need to "ghost" them. Where you just stop talking to them with no explanation and make them wonder why they aren't good enough to talk to anymore. I do not agree with this and believe that if you want to get rid of someone you need to tell them why you don't want to be around them anymore. They can't change and challenge themselves to be better if they don't know why everyone keeps abandoning them. 

In The Mood Again

Very Informative information about rebooting your sex life. This is for older generations she is discussing about 30 or older. She breaks down what is going on with your body and why and ways to help you fix this. 

I found this  very hard to follow due to all the doctor jargon. I feel like I read a book meant for the medically knowledge inclined instead of something for basic knowledge. It felt like a textbook for a high schooler that a Jr. High student is trying to comprehend. 

Dark Places

Title: Dark Places  Author: Gillian Flynn  Pages: 538  Genre: Suspense/Thriller

Libby is a young girl that is home when her whole family is killed. Her brother is blamed and sent to prison. 25 years pass since that day and she gets a letter from "The Kill Club" to come and be involved. This is where people start planting seeds that her brother Ben is innocent. They pay her some money to go back and talk about the past with some key people. She unveils the truth and her life is in danger again. Barely escaping she gets to tell the truth of what happened that night and maybe save her brother. 

I enjoyed this book more then I thought I would. I think Libby was written like a real person. We all want to feel like when we are hit with tragedy that we will rise above, but do we really? Sometimes even getting out of bed is a feat on its own. The story progressed well as you got flashbacks on how that day unfolded and how it all happened from Ben, Patty (the Mom) and of course Libby. 

Fable 2

You pick if you want to be male or female and you start your story. Some of the story line can not be changed at all however you can pick how you react to things and it puts you closer to being angelic or evil. You can change your clothes but there is no armor with it. The clothes are for looks or to help you be evil, aggressive, attractive and much more. You go through and the main objective is to seek revenge on the man that kills your sister when you are just a child. You will go from being a child to a full grown adult with kids of your own if you so choose. After you defeat Lucian you have a choice to make out of three that effects the whole of Albion not just you. You can continue to play and maintain your character after you have beat Lucian. 

I really enjoyed this game. I have for many years from when it came out. The graphics when it came out were amazing and very lifelike, over the years the graphics don't seem as good but for the time it was made it was fantastic! There are a lot of side quests to help you along on becoming good or evil. There is also a lot of ways to make money to help you buy the best of the best. It is obvious there was a lot of time and effort put into the game and I enjoy playing it over and over. I hope you enjoy it as well if you play. Happy Gaming!!
